Cheeseletes 5k
The annual fun run to raise monies and awareness for our “Back in the Vat” Grant and grassroots cheese organizations around the United States.
Cheeseletes founders Jess Perrie and Rachel Juhl created the Cheeseletes 5k out of their commitment to encouraging and enriching the educational experience within the cheese industry. The Cheeseletes Board members, Back in the Vat partners and grantees, and all of the members of the Cheeseletes community are dedicated to continuing their mission with passion and enthusiasm.
In 2016, the “Run For The Cheese Party 5k” at the American Cheese Society Conference in Des Moines, Iowa, raised over $8,000 for the Daphne Zepos Teaching Award (DZTA) and American Cheese Education Foundation (ACEF). Since then, The Cheeseletes 5k has raised over $100,000 for various cheese industry organizations like Pennsylvania Cheese Guild and James Beard Foundation. The successful momentum and fundraising inspired our own
“Back in the Vat” grant which launched in January 2023.

We aim for maximum donations to the groups that we support which means we rely on corporate sponsors to assist with overhead costs for our events. Both monetary and in-kind sponsorships are available for our annual Cheeseletes 5k as well as other events that we put on. Both monetary and in-kind sponsorships qualify for tax deductions.
